The Story Behind “Hào Khí Hùng Vương”

My school has always been known not only for its creativity but also for its deep-rooted tradition of academic excellence and intellectual curiosity.

So when I was appointed as the Vice Head of Organization for the 8th season of Hào Khí Hùng Vương, one of the school’s most long-standing and respected competitions, I felt both the weight of tradition and the excitement of renewal. The event had always been more than a contest; it was a celebration of intellect, spirit, and pride, echoing the legacy of generations of students before us.

 My role was to translate that legacy into motion, to ensure that our vision wasn’t just symbolic, but operational. I worked directly and closely with the school’s leadership and Youth Union to design a program that balanced tradition with innovation, from budget allocation to stage management. Over eight months, I oversaw the registration and selection of 130+ contestants, leading the coordination of three competition rounds, and managed detailed financial plans to ensure every department functioned seamlessly.

 During the final round, standing behind the curtain before an audience of over 1,000 students, teachers, and contestants, I noticed something unexpected: most of the photos published in local media didn’t include me. Yet instead of disappointment, I felt an unexpected calm. I realized that leadership isn’t about visibility; it’s about choreography. It’s knowing when to guide, when to trust, and when to step back so others can shine. That night, as I watched my teams working in perfect rhythm and the contestants glowing with confidence, I felt pride not in being seen, but in witnessing their brilliance, the spark I had helped ignite.
